Great Database Program - "Through Assault Case Tracking"

TACT originated in Southern California as a custom database program that would assist Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) in their work. The goal Create a computerized system to expedite services for victims, capture important details of each exam, produce reports, and allow statistical analysis of data. After months of development, the TACT prototype was released to five area hospitals who confirmed the software to be beneficial and a time-saving tool. Soon after, TACT was introduced to the forensic nursing community at the international SART conference in New Orleans. The response was astounding!

Further enhancements launched TACT into a multi-disciplinary solution for Medical, Advocacy, Law Enforcement, and Court agencies. TACT has become the industry leader for complete Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence case management

Praxis was organized in 1996 by activists in the battered women's movement to work with other social change activists seeking to end violence against women. Praxis helps advocacy organizations and inter-agency collaborations analyze how institutions of social control can be challenged to adopt practices and philosophical approaches that promote autonomy, integrity and safety for women and their children. In 1997, we developed a method of analyzing criminal justice and human service agency responses to women who are abused by their partners. This analysis of institutional practices is called an ethnography, or audit.
